What makes this Featherweight special?
This Featherweight is distinguished by the Singer decal on top of the arm instead of on the light housing. The placement of this decal was seen on a select few Featherweights mainly in 1939. One guess is that the Singer employee who installed the decals on the sewing machines was stuck all day doing decals on the Singer 66, 201, and 15 machines...here comes the Featherweight...whoops...the decal got put in the wrong spot; however, an increase in machines from this same batch with the decal on the arm give credence that it may have been intentional by Singer.
